Doing Justice: Immigration begins with the basic affirmation that our biblical ancestors were refugees and immigrants, which means—from a biblical perspective—we are all aliens, strangers, and refugees. How, then, should we respond to the immigrants, asylees, and refugees who are struggling to enter our countries, any way they can, legally or not? What is God’s will for us in regard to immigration, welcoming refugees, church engagement, and Christians’ response to government policy?

This stand-alone version of the Doing Justice: Immigration course provides timely access to its important information, allowing you to learn at your own pace. This material is adapted from the “DOING JUSTICE” series and sets the groundwork for a conversation about immigration. While some context for discussions may be missing, you'll explore personal experiences, key terminology, and both global and US immigration contexts.

This course presents four different responses to immigration, which include language, ideas, and images that may trigger strong emotions or are even offensive. You might find that you agree with certain aspects of some responses, while others may make you feel uncomfortable.

We encourage you to engage deeply with the content, keeping in mind that not every view presented reflects the opinions of FULLER Equip or our partners. This may be a challenging journey, but by striving to understand why people hold certain positions, we can gain wisdom and insight into God's will regarding the complex issue of immigration.

This course is best explored in community, so we hope you'll take it with a friend or in a learning group where you can discuss the material together.
