Description
What does it mean to live “on mission”? It means aligning our lives with God’s purpose and direction and engaging actively in God’s redemptive work. It begins with recognizing God’s love, but it doesn’t stop there. When people come to faith, they are not just loved by God; the Holy Spirit transforms them to participate in God’s mission of redemption and restoration for all creation. Believers are called to be witnesses to Jesus and join God’s mission as active participants in transforming the world.
God calls each one of us to participate in this mission, which extends beyond specific roles or titles and involves every believer and disciple of Christ.
In this certificate, you will learn how God’s mission applies to your daily life and context, as well as the roles of vocation, discipleship, justice, shalom, evangelism, and more. You will develop practices and principles to help you live with a kingdom-focused approach to everything you do. The Certificate will culminate in a final project, which can be in the format that best fits your gifts and context.
What You Will Learn:
- Articulate key principles of Christian mission, vocation, neighboring, and justice.
- Analyze the impact of cultural, social, and historical contexts on the theory and practice of mission.
- Identify practices that embody missional discipleship, relational witness, and habits of justice.
- Apply theological and practical insights to real-world contexts by developing and leading missional initiatives that address contemporary challenges.
