About This Course

Research suggests that most people you interact with—nearly 70% worldwide— have experienced some form of trauma, including the individuals you serve in ministry. Whether you're preaching, leading a small group, or directing a meal outreach program, it is essential to bring trauma-informed care to every area of ministry. By taking this course, you'll apply what you've learned about trauma and become a champion for practical change and holistic discipleship within your congregation. You'll learn to develop, analyze, and utilize a trauma-informed framework and leadership model to help your church serve those under your care more effectively.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Develop a framework for organizational trauma-informed care in order to engage your own context
  • Analyze your current church ministries using a trauma-informed framework in order to identify areas of opportunity
  • Use an adaptive leadership model in order to develop an action plan for incorporating trauma-informed practices into every aspect of church ministry

This course builds directly on the fundamental aspects of trauma you learned in Foundations of Trauma Ministry and is the recommended fourth course in the Certificate of Emotional Health in Ministry.
